Originally organized on January 14, 2004 as the Neurological Rehabilitation Special Interest Group (NR-SIG) of the Philippines, the PSNR was officially organized and incorporated on February 23, 2005. Prof. Raymond L. Rosales, who was the NR-SIG chairman, was elected as its Charter President.

The main objectives of the PSNR are:

• To advance the development and improve the quality of neurological rehabilitation in the Philippines

• To stimulate collaboration between clinicians and others with an interest in neurological rehabilitation

• To facilitate exchange of knowledge and scientific research between clinicians and others with an interest in neurological rehabilitation

• To formulate recommendations and organize patient advocacy groups and information programs
